“Puffins is very cosy and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay.”

Parking is in the road outside the cottage with a 10 minute walk the sea front. Lots of places to eat in the town and the people we spoke to were friendly and helpful.

Everything we needed was there in this delightful place. Very clean and maintained. Close to town, shops, pubs and places to visit. The owner also made sure we were 'surviving' the heat wave and the welcome 'goodies' were really appreciated.

“Lovely comfortable cottage, it had everything we needed for our stay, and lots of extras you don’t normally find.”

Very clean. The treat basket was very much appreciated, as was the tea, coffee, milk and sugar to save unpacking before you can have a drink. Comfortable beds. We didn’t take children with us, but the cottage has a small desk full of drawing and colouring, games and puzzles in a cupboard and a small basket of toys. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to walk into the town/seafront depending on which way you go, the walk along by the river was our favourite. We had no trouble getting a parking space on the road outside the cottage. Would definitely recommend staying at the cottage.

“A very cosy and well equipped cottage.”

The information on everything in the cottage was great and so helpful in settling in quickly. The welcome basket was a real bonus and done with so much care. Car parking varied but we always found a space in the road or nearby road.

“We had an extremely lovely holiday, the house was very comfortable and very well equipped.”

The only small issue was parking which I would say normally wouldn’t have been a problem but we were there at a very busy time in Sidmouth with lots of events going on but we always found a space nearby. The little details we’re lovely like the complementary soaps and welcome gift pack, also flowers, a really nice touch. Thank you Liz.

“What a lovely property.”

It was well equipped & everything was provided by the owners. Very clean. Very quiet street with a 5-10min walk to Sidmouth seafront, through the shopping area. The bed was so comfortable. It was the best sleep we've had for ages. Shower was good too. We found a car park space each time we went out. Would thoroughly recommend Puffins for anyone wanting to explore East Devon.

The property

Puffins is a delightful two-bedroom cottage situated in Sidmouth, a regency seaside town situated on the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast in East Devon. With an enclosed rear courtyard garden and sleeping up to four guests, this pretty Edwardian cottage is within walking distance of the town centre and seafront, making it ideal for those wishing to enjoy a relaxing seaside break at any time of the year. Step inside to find a bright living area, with tasteful and comfortable décor throughout. The inviting sitting area is a wonderful space for sitting back and relaxing in front of the TV, with an electric flame-effect fire for the cooler evenings. The adjoining kitchen is perfectly equipped for self-catering holidays so you can create tasty meals to enjoy with your holiday companions in the dining area, perhaps accompanied by a glass of wine. Head upstairs and you will find the two bedrooms, a double bedroom and a twin room. The spacious bathroom with a bath and thermostatic shower over is also located on this floor, where you can relax in the tub after a day out walking or opt for a quick, refreshing rinse if you're short on time. Take a walk along ‘The Byes’, a riverside walk which follows the River Sid into Sidmouth, while the town of Sidmouth is full of West Country charm with a wonderful selection of independent shops, local crafts, and coffee shops. Nestled beneath majestic red cliffs with award-winning Blue Flag beaches, the town has been a firm favourite with visitors for hundreds of years with its mix of shingle and sand, with rock pools waiting to be explored at low tide. Take a leisurely stroll along the esplanade or relax with an ice cream, before taking a refreshing dip in the sea. Popular with water enthusiasts, paddle board and kayak hire are available, with the beach a haven for surfers. The nearby Donkey Sanctuary is home to hundreds of donkeys and is open throughout the year, perfect for animal enthusiasts or a day out with the little ones. For times when you chose not to cook, there is an excellent range of pubs, wine bars and restaurants nearby, many serving local seafood and dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. When it comes to days out, you will be spoilt for choice including the fishing village of Beer with its pretty beach and galleries, or Seaton where you can hop on the tram for a scenic journey through miles of unspoilt countryside along the River Axe estuary. However you wish to spend your holiday, Puffins is the ideal place to enjoy this and so much more.

Sidmouth is an elegant seaside resort on the south Devon stretch of Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site of great natural beauty. Here is where the River Sid cuts through the Devon hills to meet the sea at Lyme Bay, creating a clean pebbly beach, giving way to golden sands at low tide backed by dramatic red cliffs creating a safe family beach with rockpools and safe bathing.
