“The welcome pack was a nice touch.”

The sofas and the beds are very comfortable. The towels are rather small. The main bathroom had not been cleaned. The smaller shower head leaks in the main bathroom. As we had to phone 3 times requesting an iron and ironing board, we saw no point in reporting that to customer services. Thank you for bringing these matters to my attention. I know an iron and ironing board were provided during your stay, and will remain in the property. I’m sorry the cleaning in the bathroom was not to your satisfaction and the shower head was leaking - if these issues had been raised while you were there I know the team would have done their best to resolve them. I am looking to move to a private waste company going forward as the council collections have not been as reliable as I would like. Nevertheless I hope you still managed to have a good holiday and enjoyed your time in Lyme Regis Property Owner

The property

Wagtail Cottage is a newly built home, offering stylish, contemporary living within easy reach of Lyme Regis’ historic town and coastline. Arranged over three floors, this 4 bedroom property has been finished to a high standard, with a focus on quality, comfort and understated style throughout. Ideal for families or groups of friends, Wagtail Cottage also welcomes one well‑behaved dog, making it a relaxed and practical choice for a coastal getaway. The ground floor is designed with sociable living in mind, featuring an open‑plan layout that seamlessly combines a well‑equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable sitting space. The kitchen includes a range of integrated appliances, while the sitting area is centred around a large wall‑mounted Smart TV. French doors open onto a private decked courtyard, where a generous table and chairs create the perfect setting for alfresco dining, complemented by the character of an original Dorset stone wall. A separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer adds to the convenience. The bedrooms are arranged over the upper two floors. On the first floor, there are three well‑proportioned bedrooms, including a spacious super king and two twin rooms, alongside a family bathroom fitted with both a bath and a separate walk‑in shower. The top floor is given over to the principal bedroom — a generous super king suite with a sleek ensuite wet room and views stretching across the rooftops towards the sea. Outside, the property benefits from two allocated parking spaces and an electric vehicle charging point. It has also been designed with modern energy‑efficient features to support year‑round comfort. Set just a short walk through Lyme Regis’ charming old town, Wagtail Cottage is perfectly placed for exploring the town’s independent shops, seafront and beaches. Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Dorset’, Lyme Regis lies at the heart of the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, known for its dramatic scenery, fossil‑rich shoreline and the iconic Cobb harbour. Days can be spent exploring the South West Coast Path, taking boat trips from the harbour, or simply enjoying time by the sea, while further afield there are wonderful day trips to places such as Abbotsbury Swannery and Subtropical Gardens, or the much‑loved Donkey Sanctuary at nearby Sidmouth. Wagtail Cottage provides a stylish and welcoming base for creating lasting holiday memories in this iconic seaside town.
