    “Very helpful hosts & easy to contact.”

    The welcome gifts were much appreciated. Situated in an ideal location - this first floor flat is opposite the sea front beside West Beach Cafe, an approx 200 yard walk to the harbour with its pubs, stalls, shops & bars. The property's highlight was the enclosed balcony area with sliding patio doors, great for sea views & sunsets. The flat was clean with large rooms & storage, a well equipped kitchen & an excellent spacious shower enclosure. Easy parking with grassed areas on site & cliff ...

The property's highlight was the enclosed balcony area with sliding patio doors, great for sea views & sunsets. The flat was clean with large rooms & storage, a well equipped kitchen & an excellent spacious shower enclosure. Easy parking with grassed areas on site & cliff walks, all good for the dog too. There's an abundance of places to eat: The West Bay Hotel, The George & Anchor Inn are good venues. The Rise surrounded by water & The Platform old train carriage restaurants were our favourites. Further afield, The Hive cafe at Hive beach is lovely for beach views. Jurassic Boats scenic tours Lyme Regis & The Seaton Tramway not too far away - both enjoyable days out. Felicity's Farm Shop a few miles away with outside cafe seating overlooking rolling hills is worth a visit too. Regarding access - the low lounge seating & low main bed not suitable for all.

West Bay, fondly known as “The Gateway to the Dorset Jurassic Coast” and popularised by the TV series Broadchurch, lies close to the glorious sandstone cliffs of Golden Cap, at the western end of the dramatic pebbly Chesil Beach. This is a wonderful seaside location, perfect for family holidays, offering scenic walks along the South West Coast Path, as well as ample opportunities to try your hand at sea fishing, crabbing, boating and golf. Visit the homes of Thomas Hardy and TE Lawrence, the Tank Museum at Bovington or the Naval Air Museum at Yeovil. Only 1.5 miles away is the vibrant market town of Bridport, featured in the TV series, River Cottage. The area holds plenty of attractions to suit the whole family! Just a short drive West takes you to Charmouth for fossil hunting, to the picturesque seaside resort of Lyme Regis, and to River Cottage HQ near Axminster.
