“This was our first visit to Lyme Regis and 3 Dolphin Cottages provided the perfect accommodation as a base to explore this fantastic part of the country.”

It was close to all amenities, but a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of the town itself. We were pleased to have the parking, and managed the space no problem. Great walks along the coastal path, including to Charmouth and back along the beach hunting for fossils. Thank you, we hope to return.

“Accommodation was fine, comfortable with all the facilities we wanted.”

Prefer walk in showers but felt quite safe using this over the bath shower. Property was in a good location and convenient to local amenities. I was concerned about the parking but the allocated space was just enough for my Toyota Auris helped by the fact that while we were there only one other vehicle used the parking area for one night

“A very comfy, cozy cottage in an excellent location.”

An easy walk into the town, to the front, the Town Mill and to the river Lim footpath. Towels and bedlinen were fluffy and fresh. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped with nice crockery, glassware and good quality saucepans etc. The bathroom was very clean, well maintained and the shower provided plenty of hot water for the three of us. Nothing in the cottage looked worn , tired or dated. The parking space was a major attraction for us and was plenty big enough for our VW Polo.

“Thanks for a lovely stay.”

This is my fourth visit and it was lovely to come back again. It's a nice cottage, it was very clean and of course a great location - close to the sea and town and also the river walk to Uplyme. It is good that you have an OS Map on the shelves, as well as books with local walks. My only suggestion would be to perhaps also have some reference books on wildlife in the area (e.g. flowers / birds etc.) Parking was fine as I have a small car.

“A very comfortable cottage in a quiet street but close to the heart of Lyme Regis, and reasonably level walking the short distance to the sea front.”

Lyme Regis itself is a delightful town (though very busy during the day, especially at weekends) and there are many small independent shops. It is an ideal place to explore the Jurassic coast. We loved our time here and I hope we will be back. If so, well, why would we stay anywhere other than 3 Dolphin Cottages?

“The property appears to had have has refresh which improved our stay there (carpets seem more comfortable, TV and broadband noticeable improved and the loo roll holder position a distinct improvement.”

The pillows in the master bedroom seem better and and the welcome packet was definitely good). After several visits we have finally got the knack of parking in the restricted space now the small gate can be moved outwards back on its self. However I would still want better armchairs in the living room or at least much better cushions as they are noticeably uncomfortable.

I am glad to hear you noticed improvements, feedback from guest is actioned where possible during the winter maintenance period. Parking is tight for larger cars and when all three cottages are occupied but, to allow easier access to number 3s parking space, the gate has always opened outwards if the bottom bolt is fully lifted. “Just came back from a lovely week at 3 Dolphin Cottage.”

The cottage was clean spacious and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable,shower amazing. Having a parking space a real bonus. What made it for us was the location,just a short walk into town. Although there is very little outdoor space we did manage to have a bbq outside of the sunroom,which we’d sit in at night. Opening the sash window in the front room in the morning watching the world go by was very pleasant. Will definitely be going back,highly recommend.

“Nice, comfortable cottage.”

Kitchen is well equipped though some non-stick frying pans would be better than the current ones. Handy to be able to dry clothes in the sun room. The location is great, on a quaint street only a few minutes walk to the town and beach. We enjoyed our stay here!

The cottage was clean on arrival and the facilities were as described. We would definitely return, the cottage was close to shops and restaurants and the beach a great location and no hills to go up and down. I would recommend to friends.

“Very disappointed that no welcome hamper was provided; simple things like tea, milk, biscuits really should have been there.”

In over 40 years of hiring cottages, this is the first time this has happened! Also, no folder giving details of nearest shops, places to eat etc.

“Lovely cottage.”

Just what we needed. We would definitely stay again if looking for a property of this size. Great location and very well equipped. Parking space is small but we were able to use for offloading etc and find local car park for our car. Sun room at back was a highlight.

The property was clean & comfortable with everything provided. Property is situated very conveniently to access both town & beach. Provides good base to explore further afield also. Would have been nice to have some outside space with table & chairs but there isn't really enough room for this. Would recommend & return again.

“We very much enjoyed our stay at 3 Dolphin Cottages, everywhere was beautifully clean.”

The one thing that would have improved our stay though would have been a few basic groceries, such as tea and milk on arrival. We are not car owners and so shopping was quite a major event. Also, two sets of keys would have been a help. Apart from this, all good!

I fully agree with your comment re a second set of keys and, although another set can always be picked up from Lyme Bay Holidays, I have asked them to leave a second guest set in the house. I have also asked Lyme Bay Holidays to look in to options regarding basic groceries as currently only an arrival hamper can be added. This provides a lovely treats but the feedback has been that guests actual requirements differ considerably ie decaf, gluten free, non dairy milk etc. Property Owner

It was almost a level walk to the town and beach which is a bonus in Lyme. I did'nt realise the cottage did not have any outside space, it was not a problem as the beach was close by. Parking was really handy as well.
