“The perfect location for a summer getaway!”

The house had everything we needed, with plenty of kitchenware and a beautiful large dining table overlooking the garden. It made summer evenings feel really special. The garden furniture was plentiful, which was especially appreciated during the heatwave. The outdoor space was fantastic — something you don’t always get when staying right on the beach. The house itself was very clean, well maintained and thoughtfully equipped. Don’t be put off by the hill — it’s easy to get down ...

The house had everything we needed, with plenty of kitchenware and a beautiful large dining table overlooking the garden. It made summer evenings feel really special. The garden furniture was plentiful, which was especially appreciated during the heatwave. The outdoor space was fantastic — something you don’t always get when staying right on the beach. The house itself was very clean, well maintained and thoughtfully equipped. Don’t be put off by the hill — it’s easy to get down and offers beautiful sea views from every window, as well as along the walk down. The beach was within easy walking distance, and there was also a great children’s park just a few minutes away, which the kids loved. We would highly recommend this property and would happily stay here again!

“A lovely property.”

Very spacious and ideal for large families. Fantastic sea views and a lovely big garden and terrace for the kids to run round in. Facilities were spot on with all our needs catered for. Highly recommended!

Very comfortable, clean, and modern inside. Can walk into Lyme Regis and beach, lots of eateries nearby. Big hill on way back - but stunning views make up for this.

“Lovely property and if being picky a few things.”

Wonky toilet seat in downstairs bathroom. No oven gloves and would have been nice with sachets of salt, sugar etc. Although the welcome pack was a nice touch. Few cushions in lounge. Shame the twin bed wasn’t made up, but overall had a comfortable stay

“Simply wonderful.”

Such a calm and tranquil aura to the house. Everything we needed and more was provided. Good location but very steep hills surrounding property and driveway is very steep also. Second bedroom should have been made up as a twin room but was left as a double so make sure you provide explicit instructions to the booking agency. Overall excellent property - the most comfortable beds!!!!!! Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.

“Fantastic property with a stunning view across Lyme Bay.”

Lots of great toys and games for the children and a well stocked kitchen. We were here for a week There is a dripping kitchen tap I would recommend getting fixed and oven gloves would be handy. But those are the only negatives. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wanting to bring a family.

“Wonderfully spacious house, with very comfy beds, spectacular views from all the bedrooms, unfortunately the foliage at the bottom of the garden obscured the beautiful view from the terraced decking, ground level.”

...this is probably out of the owner's hands, as the cemetery at the bottom of the garden possibly holds responsibility for that boundary line, but worth a mention, just in case the local council would be willing to cut the trees a little. House was at the top of a steep hill, which we had read in other reviews, but we soon got used to walking down in to Lyme Regis and back up ( even with a pushchair

“Nicely updated and extended house in a pretty good location, maximising sea distant views from most rooms.”

Vehicles do use the road outside to park for free rather than use the close charging Public or Football Club car parks which is a bit of a pain. The wheelie dustbin at the front was half full on arrival and had just missed the collection so was there all week and had a lot of unbagged loose food and bottles in it which was a shame (not reported as lyme bay hols/sykes are a bit of a 'mare to contact) so just put up with. I have to say it is a good place to hire but not necessarily good value for the high hire charge. Looking at the substantial Sykes owner charging structure, I'm not surprised, so will question whether I ever use them again.

“The property was delightful, modern, spacious and very well equipped.”

Beautiful views out to sea. Central to Lyme Regis, although the walk up the hill is not for the faint hearted. Although outside of the owner’s control, the bed linen that was provided was inadequate. No buttons remained on one of the duvet covers so we fought with it every night. Ended up removing it and used the duvet on its own. The bath towels could have been larger, they barely covered the necessities! Some property maintenance is required to the damaged plaster work. Accessing the drive was a bit precarious, especially reversing in/out with the proximity to the junction. Although, nothing we couldn’t handle. Getting through to Lyme Bay holidays was problematic, I gave up trying to get through on the phone and had to wait nearly 4 weeks for a reply on the online chat. All in all, we loved our break away and can’t wait to be back at the coast soon.

WiFi was a little weak in the evenings when we were at the property and the black bin I think should have been emptied on the Friday morning but was full so clearly hadn’t been out out on the street. Other than that, it was great!

“We were delighted with this property and bigger than I expected.”

The house was spotless and very well equipped. It was very comfortable and we loved sitting on the deck looking towards the sea. Our grandson loved the garden and the books and toys. The location was great being 10 mins walk into town and great having the bus stop nearby. It was very quiet and very nice area. We couldn’t fault it and welcome pack was appreciated.

Spacious well equiped and comfortable. My only disatisfaction is with Sykes, who it takes 20-30minutes to get trhough to with a query and their online app is very limited. However, once through to Sykes the representives were very helpful

“This property has wonderful views and deserves a good quality 4 star rating.”

It is very well equipped and well presented. The welcome pack was much appreciated. Beds and sofas were fine but not the most comfortable and bedding was clean but with some marks. The bedrooms are bright and the dual aspect master bedroom especially so, heavier curtains or blinds would have helped sleep. One can walk to the sea but walking back up the hill might not suit everyone. The driveway is awkward to access because of other parked cars. None of these minor points affected us very much and we enjoyed our stay. If we were to return to Lyme Regis we would be happy to return to Lotty’s Lookout.

It has parking for two cars and a lovely garden. The house is spacious, modern, clean, very comfortable and has sea views from all the back rooms and the large veranda. Adults and children alike loved it and cannot wait to return.

“This is a fantastic property and the owners have thought of everything you could possibly want or need to make your stay perfect.”

The walk back up the hill is a little challenging, but not horrendous. The views are beautiful with being higher up. There were only a couple of things to mention. The road is quite nearby and we were disturbed during the night by tankers going up and down with flashing lights. They were Clear Flow vehicles and were doing work down by the seafront in Lyme Regis. Don’t know if this is a regular occurrence, or if we were just unlucky this week. It wouldn’t put us off going again and is totally out of the owners control. The second thing is the stripping of the beds due to Covid. This took considerable time and effort with all the pillow and mattress protectors as well as the bedding. Not sure how you can claim it is to stop the spread of Covid, think it’s more down to saving time for the cleaners as a lot of the towels and bedding didn’t even fit in the bag provided and would have to be handled by them anyway. Again, it would not stop us visiting this property. We had a fantastic stay and enjoyed Lyme Regis and the surrounding area.

“Lovely house - clean and comfortably furnished.”

Sitting on the deck in the sunshine was a joy. The rose bushes on the driveway need a bit of a prune; I managed to catch myself on thorns more than once when getting out of the car. As mentioned in another review, on street parking makes reversing out of the steep driveway a bit nerve wracking, but there's little the owners can do about that. If there was one thing lacking, I'd say it was a full length mirror - perhaps in the hall? Overall, it was a pleasure to stay at Lottys Lookout, though I probably wouldn't return with my elderly mum as it was a bit too far out (i.e., up!) for her to walk.

Our only problem was the intermittent TV reception. This did spoil any viewing we had. Maybe it’s something that can be attended to. Also I did think a mat for the decking entrance would be a good idea. All in all though, a very nice break.

Constant parking outside the property makes it very difficult to park your own vehicle. The vehicles parked outside & opposite the property are all non-resident for the road. Perhaps the double yellow lines should be extended?
