    “THis is a lovely house in a fantastic location.”

    Close to Beach / Town and loads of places to eat. The house has very steep stairs up to 2nd and 3rd Floor, this was pointed out to us before we booked the house but just want to warn anyone they are very steep and narrow in places, not ideal for anyone who struggles on normal stairs. The house has to lounges one on ground floor and one on 2nd floor next to kitchen but you dont really have a comfortable sofa where you can all sit. In the ground floor lounge there is a Chaise Long that is comfy ...

In the ground floor lounge there is a Chaise Long that is comfy but the rest of the chairs/sofas are not. And on the 2nd floor lounge you have a L shaped sofa that you cant all sit together on. The Single Beds are super comfy but the Double Bed has a very hard mattress. Kitchen wise you have plenty of everything which we liked as some houses only give you enough for each person there to use once then you have to wash it all to be able to eat again, this house has plenty so you are not putting the dishwasher on only half full. (Could do with a potatoe masher). I would still recommend this house as its location wins over everything else.

The property

Waltham House is a 17th century Grade II listed property positioned in one of the oldest streets in Lyme Regis over looking a small public garden in Georges Square. This large and comfortable property has been modernised but still retains some of the original character. It includes exposed local Blue Lias stone walls and some gently sloping floors which add to the overall charm of the house. It is laid out over four floors, including a basement snooker room, and with the added bonus of a double sofa bed in the dining room there is enough space for larger families or groups of friends. The ground floor wet room is ideal for 'hosing` off sandy children after a day at the beach. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. There is a good stock of beach essentials including buckets and spades for those sunny days, and with a selection of books, games, and the snooker table for `very occasional` rainy days it makes this an ideal holiday home. The delightful seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer its visitors, boasting a maze of narrow streets filled with craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. Take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway overlooking the ancient harbour, where fishing trips can be enjoyed, or try your hand at fossil hunting in the area. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. A holiday destination to savour!

We have been contacted by the local council concerning essential works taking place within the car park from the 3rd Feb for approximately 3-4 weeks weather dependent.
There will be a dedicated area for cars that have a parking permit to display, however please note that EV charging will not be available during this time but Charmouth Road Car Park and Holmbush Car Park chargers will be fully operational.
