“We arrived at the time stated for entry to the property, 4pm.”
We were not expected and a lady was in the premises “cleaning”. She apologised and said she had not been notified of our booking and thought the property was vacant for the week. We had to wait over half an hour before being allowed in.
The cleaning left something to be desired, there were dead insects on the window sills and the carpet looked grubby, there was dust in the bedroom. I think the property is in need of a deep clean, skirting boards, ceiling corners etc. We were visiting with a pet but were amazed to see the cottage being cleaned with two dogs in attendance in and out of the premises.
There are no facilities for recycling, just the suggestion we travel to Bridport for the recycling centre, think this is a necessity. Only 2 bin bags provided, I do not think we should be expected to provide them.
The TV needs updating, very few channels available on freeview, I know this is a minor thing but just thought I’d mention it.
Admittedly we may have been spoilt by our previous stays at another property we’ve rented from yourselves, Bridgehouse apartment, which we couldn’t fault in any way.
Regardless of these comments we enjoyed our stay, the property is in a good position, you need to inform prospective clients of the summer fair in the field opposite as some might not like the noise especially if they have young children. The kitchen is well equipped, and the size of the cottage is adequate for 5 people.
