“It was very comfortable.”

Not sure we would stop somewhere else where shower was on ground floor,but bedroom was upstairs.Towels were not good,one hand towel and one bath towel each--good job we brought our own.One toilet roll each for a week is also not ideal,we ended up buying some more. Lights were a bit of a bind,one floor lamp downstairs but room lighting was too bright too read by.Overall it was very nice.We met some lovely locals,the lady across the lane on bat study tickled us both.Village comprises of 1 Nisa ...

“Lovely property in great location.”

Only issues were dodgy front door lock which was sorted quite quickly. Fortunately the inner door was lockable so I mostly used that. Glad I met the owner who loaned me a step so I could reach the kitchen cupboards and louvre windows upstairs. Bed a bit lumpy. Figured out recycling but no sensible answers from Lyme Bay Holidays who run the property. Overall great stay.

“Warm welcome from the host.”

Accommodation very clean and tidy. Beautiful bedroom, very bright and airy. Rental is in a perfect location for Charmouth Beach, just a few minutes walk away. So nice to not have to move the car when we wanted to walk along the beach. Internet was a bit intermittent.

“This is a very cosy little cottage, ideally situated in Charmouth within easy walking distance of 2 great pubs, the shops and the beach.”

The only shortcoming we noticed was the lack of drinking glasses, there were no pint glasses and only 1 wine glass. This is a lovely place to stay and is a great place for exploring Charmouth and the rest of the Jurassic Coast. We would have no problem staying here again.

“We were the first to book here and we suppose there was a chance there'd be teething issues.”

I wanted to give feedback rather than a review that might be published to be fair to the host but eventually had to use the review The cottage is cosy and well looked after, the bed is really comfortable and the shower was great. Lynne the owner is friendly, welcoming and helpful It is in a great location, close to shops/pubs and the beach. I wanted to give it a 10 star rating but felt the following issues couldn't justify that completely: The cottage is advertised as having wifi and a smart tv. However there was no wifi available at the moment (apparently the owner did let you know that and she is looking into how she can get it installed), which also meant that the smart TV wasn't enabled.Both toilet seats are smaller than the toilet pans which makes them unsettling to sit on and probably less hygienic The light switch for the stairs also turns on the lights in the bedroom which means that if one of the couple goes to bed at a different time or gets up earlier than the other then the whole bedroom is lit up disturbing the sleep of the other guest. It must be fairly simple to get an electrician in to isolate the two functions with different switches. We got round this by leaving a lamp on downstairs which was less disruptive but still meant the space was lighter than is conducive to good sleep.The kitchen had a microwave but we couldn't locate any cooking bowls that could be used in it.The sink drainer is tiny so the owner has provided a huge plastic dish drainer for the washing up. It is way too big and unusable - there are plenty of smaller ones available which have a sloping funnel-like drain towards the sink.There was plenty of crockery and cutlery but they were old and felt like they had been found in a charity shop or the back of someone's kitchen cupboard. Apart from the mugs which were obviously new.It would be really helpful to have hooks on the back of the shower room door to hang dressing gowns on. Leaving a dressing gown on the floor of a shower room is not ideal. Also the towels were too small We mentioned items 1, 2 and 3 to the owner and she said that she might do something about them.
