“This is a lovely apartment with what looks like a new, well equipped kitchen.”

The whole apartment was very clean, the beds are comfy and the shower is fantastic, nice and hot with very good water pressure! Bit of a steep stairway but nothing to put anyone off. Very central convenient location. Only criticism is that the towel rail is run off of the heating and so because we didn't have the heating on, our towels didn't dry, which we would have liked. Bonus to have a parking space although a little tight if you have a bigger SUV type of car.

“Lovely accommodation , tastefully decorated .”

View from living room sofa of the curved part of the Cobb where the famous scene from " The French Lieutenants Woman " was filmed . Watch the film on the TV placed next to the window at the same time if you wish ! Fully equipped kitchen , comfy beds and monsoon strength shower . Beach and Cobb 100 metres from door . Stair access to flat may not suit the infirm . Sound and voice does travel a bit from flat above but not a big issue at all during our stay.

Chris July 2026

“Lovely property in a fab location.”

Lots of room inside and generally to a high standard (especially the main bathroom and kitchen) although carpets in walkway areas were slightly worn/tatty.

- Chris, July 2026

Thank you for your kind review. I’m pleased you thought our property was lovely. We will take a look at the walkway area although all the carpets were replaced 2 years ago. Property Owner
David July 2026

“As a family we have used this marvelous property for summer holidays for several years.”

In fact we've been every year since 2023 and have already booked up for 2027! It is so well located for a relaxing holiday in Lyme Regis with all amenities close by. Small changes have been made over the years to enhance the property. Currently the thing we hope will change soon are the sofas in the lounge. They weren't very comfortable during our first visit pre covid and obviously have deteriorated further over the years. Any small problems we have had have been dealt with in a timely manner.

- David, July 2026

We are so pleased you enjoy your return trips to our property and thank you for your valued custom. We will take on board your comments and look forward to your return in 2027. Property Owner
Mrs Waldmeier Jun 2026

“Such a lovely apartment, decorated with love and great taste.”

The view from my bed is just priceless, the beds are comfy and having two bedrooms as well as two toilets is such a comfort :) We can recommend the pub across for a great breakfast and the harbour inn for excellent dinner. Fossil hunting near charmouth was great we really love it here in Lyme Regis with lots of sunshine! Thank you for a wonderful stay

Eddie April 2026

“Hi there, had a really good stay here again.”

However, I have to raise a complaint on how our WiFi issue was handled. We had NO WiFi from Monday night all the way to the end of our stay which was incredibly frustrating and disappointing, considering the fact the network service around Lyme is not particularly good. Two people came to see the issue in hand and one of them under the name of Mick on Monday, left a note saying it’s due to external issues. The other gentleman on Wednesday, came in to have a look but with no message or any sort of communication. I have messaged via WhatsApp but all I got told is to “be patient” baring in mind we waited 5 days to sort this. I’m wondering if someone is able to contact me in anyway shape or form to get this issue sorted, as we would consider staying in the future again. Kind regards, Eddie

- Eddie, April 2026

We are so pleased you had a really good stay again. So sorry you had Wi-Fi issues, we are sorry that it wasn’t communicated to you but we were in constant contact with the Wi-Fi provider. We have been unable to resolve the matter and have changed provider. Going forward the property will benefit from fibre broadband which will be faster and more reliable. Again, please accept our sincere apologies and we hope to see you back again. Property Owner
Catherine March 2026

“This was our second stay at 2 Cobb View and we find it a great base for being in Lyme.”

It's a real asset having a designated parking place. The flat is light and airy with a sea view and very clean and comfortable. It is well equipped with everything you need and has plenty of storage space. Restaurants and shops are all within walking distances.

- Catherine, March 2026

Thank you for your kind review, pleased to be able to welcome you back to our lovely apartment. Property Owner
Deb February 2026

“Lovely appt, brilliant location to be able to walk into Lyme Regis.”

Probably one of the best properties we've stayed in!

- Deb, February 2026

Thank you so much for the great feedback. So pleased you had a good stay :-) Property Owner
Paul February 2026

“Overall a nice appartment situated in a brilliant location.”

The only criticism would be that the front door lock needs either maintenance or replacement. It is hard to get the key in and occasionally the key just spins round and doesent engage.

- Paul, February 2026

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you had a good stay. Sorry to hear about the front door lock. We will arrange for this to be repaired, thanks for bringing to our attention. Property Owner
Ethel January 2026

“Great location with a lovely view.”

You are most welcome. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner
Celia September 2025

“The flat was lovely, great that there is a car park space with it.”

And 2 set of keys was a great bonus. The flat was clean, and tidy and had all that you need in the kitchen. Will stay there again.

So pleased you had a great stay. We look forward to seeing you again :-) Property Owner
Susan September 2025

“This apartment was in a perfect location for us.”

We are older & have a big dog so we could walk on Monmouth beach and then walk & enjoy all the amenities of Lyme Regis without having to drive. The apartment layout was great - light, spacious and furnished with style. Even nightlights provided. Great for families with young children. Nice view of the sea. The Welcome Pack was very thoughtful and appreciated. The Information book was brilliant. Unloading & loading the car was a bit of a pain for us as the parking space is close by to the rear of property but up a steepish hill. Double yellow lines out front. All in all, a great holiday. Would definitely come back again.

- Susan, September 2025

Thank you so much for your positive feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your return. For your information, out of season you can park out front. Allowance is made in season for you to unload and load your car before parking. Property Owner
Lesley September 2025

“Lovely flat in a good position in Lyme Regis - easy walk to restaurants, shops and the Cobbs - Really comfy beds, lovely shower, well equipped kitchen.”

The large sofa was a bit to soft for us hence the mark down on comfort. It would have been useful to have a shelf in the shower and access to a full length mirror.

- Lesley, September 2025

So pleased you had an enjoyable stay. Thanks so much for the suggestions. Property Owner
Ruth August 2025

“We visited the property in May this year and again in August because we loved the property and location so much.”

Our second visit did not disappoint. It was good see a couple of tweaks since out first visit based on some earlier visitor feedback: the keysafe was easier to unlock, there were two sets of keys instead of one and there was a useful clothes airer. Would definitely return and recommend this property.

- Ruth, August 2025

Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your second visit. Property Owner
Victoria August 2025

“It was the most lovely and spotless holiday rental we've ever had.”

Such a lovely apartment. The cleaners really do deserve praise, it was impeccable. Lovely lovely apartment and we'll definitely be back!

- Victoria, August 2025

Thank you so much Victoria. So pleased you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your return. I will pass your praise on to the housekeepers :-) Property Owner
Linda July 2025

“We enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment over looking the cobb, allocated parking was only a short distance away although we did unload the car in front the apartment before parking.”

A bright and airy space very clean and tidy with a very well equipped kitchen and found a really good welcome pack full of Dorset goodies . The beds were comfy the bathroom was large with a good sized shower a cot was supplied for our 7 month old grandson and the owners very kindly supplied a high chair on request and was very much appreciated we were able to leave the pushchair in the downstairs porch without it being a hazard . We hope to be back again

- Linda, July 2025

So pleased you had a good stay. We look forward to your next visit. Property Owner
Jonathan June 2025

“Sofa’s not totally comfortable.”

Double bed dipped down on one side. Long mirror would have been appreciated. Kitchen was well equipped. Parking convenient given the location. Wake up to the seagulls !!!

- Jonathan, June 2025

Thank you for your feedback. We haven’t had an issue with the sofa or the bed and will look into this matter. We are pleased to be able to offer such convenient parking whilst being so close to the sea. Property Owner
Suong Lien April 2025

“Excellent place.”

The flat was clean and spacious. We could hear the people upstairs but that didn’t bother us. We loved the little treat bag that was left for us

Zoe August 2024

“The flat is in a fantastic location.”

It’s a good size and each room has plenty of space. It was light and airy. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment, cutlery and crockery. It needs a guide on how to use the hob - we struggled with that initially. We liked having a parking space and I would rent the property again. 2 points to make the stay easier: 1. Only having one set of keys was a MASSIVE problem for us. Lyme Bay gave us a second set but they didn’t open the ground floor entrance which was our problem door. As you share the entrance with the top flat, who independently lock that entrance door, we were finding members of our group were locked in and couldn’t get out or locked out but couldn’t get in, even though people were in the flat. Phone signal was patchy so they couldn’t even phone us! It was infuriating and would prevent me from rebooking without the guarantee of 2 sets of keys.it was a big issue for us as we didn’t all come and go at the same time. 2. Easier arrival instructions. If you don’t know that the main car park is not Underhill, it’s hugely confusing. We thought the area in front of the flat was where we were meant to park. Please amend arrival instructions to suggest people park outside the property to unload luggage and then take the car to Underhill car park , which is BEHIND the property, not in front. Having discovered where Underhill car park is, the reserved space is easy to find and we’ll sign posted.

- Zoe, August 2024

Thank you so much for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed our property. All appliance instructions are kept in the information folder in the flat. We have been in touch with Lyme Bay Holidays who have assured us that there will be 2 sets of keys in the key safe. We will also provide a set of keys to be kept in the flat. Your note re unloading and then parking is a very good one. The parking instructions will be amended accordingly. Thanks once again. Property Owner
Sara August 2024

“Fantastic location and that's what you pay for.”

Take into consideration you have people/families and below you which can be noisy and the table outside means people from your house can be outside at night talking which is heard through the open windows and is annoying. I would not use Sykes again as communication on app is so slow.

- Sara, August 2024

Dear guest, as you say the location is fantastic. Thank you for staying at our holiday home. We appreciate your feedback. Property Owner
Kevin July 2024

“The property was fine but we had a problem with the front door and were not able to get out, we tried calling the emergency number and left a message but no one called us back, after some time the person from upstairs came back and let us out as we were trapped.”

I called the office the next day to complain and asked for a call back, still waiting!!

- Kevin, July 2024

Dear guest, so sorry to hear about the situation you found yourself in. Lyme Bay Holidays have made contact with us. They have checked and confirmed that all keys are in full working order. Property Owner
Mark April 2024

Jen March 2024

“Had a fantastic holiday at 2 Cobb view.”

The property was very clean, generally well appointed. The location was excellent and we had a lovely week away. However, we asked for and was told a travel cot would be in the property, that didn’t happen. With a baby in tow you can imagine that caused us an issue to sort on the first day of our arrival after a long journey. It needs new sofas, the one opposite the window is incredibly lumpy and uncomfortable to sit on. Finally, it’s worth noting on the listing that the floors above carry the sound very badly - the family above us moving made the doors in our apartment shake and conversations carried. It didn’t cause an issue for us, but with a lighter sleeping baby or for those irritated by such things it would do.

- Jen, March 2024
Michael March 2024

“Lovely property.”

Everything we needed. Comfortable. Lovely view. Handy for everything... Just one thing the decking was very very slippery and needed to be sorted. Could do with an outside light for evenings when coming in.

- Michael, March 2024

Thank you for your feedback :-). Issues mentioned are being addressed. Property Owner
Ana-maria February 2024

“2 Cobb View is a wonderful holiday place with amazing views of The Cobb, the sea and the waiting to sail boats.”

The flat is equipped with everything you might need for your stay, it is warm and cosy and really has that special home away from home feeling. The recently refurbished kitchen was a treat, enjoying meals at the white table with benches really gave us that beach holiday feeling, even if in winter! Not least, we were spoiled with a lovely welcome pack which we thoroughly enjoyed! Definitely planning to return and would highly recommend 2 Cobb View to anyone looking for an accommodation with a view in the area. Thank you!

- Ana-maria, February 2024

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, it is greatly appreciated. Property Owner

Barrie September 2023

“A perfect location with a reserved place in the car park just behind the property, which is a big bonus in Lyme Regis with its restricted parking availability.”

Lovely apartment with very nice open space at the front with tables and chairs overlooking the Cobb.

- Barrie, September 2023

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, it is greatly appreciated. Property Owner
Jane August 2023

“This is a wonderful property.”

Very comfortable and clean. The welcome package was lovely....more than we expected by far but that touch made a big difference. The location was perfect....right on the bay and an easy walk to the shops, restaurants and the Cobb. The kitchen was very spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. My only small negative was the use of a key to lock the lobby from the inside. You could only get out of the building with the key. It seems a latch system would be a safer option. I would highly recommend this property and would stay again.

- Jane, August 2023
Ian April 2023

“Perfect position our 2 nd vit”

- Ian, April 2023
Martin March 2023

“An excellent apartment with modern fittings.”

Super setting in that it overlooks the Cobb without being right next to the 'passing crowds'. You can drop off your stuff within a short walk of the front door and the provided car park is very close and greatly appreciated. Only suggestion is that there is no source of direct heat in the lounge so to be warm (it was a cold and damp week) you had to use the efficient central heating system but then heat the whole appt. We will be back.

- Martin, March 2023

Thank you so much for your positive feedback, it is greatly appreciated. Property Owner
Sarah September 2022

“This was our second visit to the property and we were just as happy this time around.”

We find it very comfortable and especially well located. We know Lyme very well having been visiting for 40 years. As I now have mobility issues I find I can get around with my walking aid and visit all my old haunts. We find the flat tastefully decorated and we enjoy the art work which makes for a relaxing atmosphere. As our party includes two couples we appreciated having two sets of keys this year.

- Judith, August 2022
Vicci July 2022

“Great flat in a great location, the pictures don’t do the flat or the views justice.”

Tricky if you have mobility issues and parking is away from the property.

- Phillip, June 2022

“Great having a car park spot.”

As most in Lyme don’t. Having taken very elderly in-laws away, having a car park spot was perfect.

- Paul, June 2022
Yvonne June 2022

“We were very disappointed by the lack of cleanliness to the property and even more disappointed of the dismissive attitude from Lyme Bay holidays to our complaint.”

We found dirty mugs, cutlery, chopping board, congealed food on a dish, table & benches not clean & dirty shower base during our stay. Yet the website states access delayed: " to allow for the additional & enhanced cleaning procedures required". Yet one email response to our complaint from you stated: "a standard clean had been undertaken at the property." It would appear that even this standard was not achieved let alone any enhanced cleaning procedures. Our complaint to you was dismissed saying we had refused cleaners and could not provide photos. We arrived about 4.15pm on 3rd June and wanted a cup of tea to then find dirty mugs & cutlery. My husband has an autoimmune condition and my first thoughts were to provide a clean and safe environment for him, not to take photos for yourselves. We also did not refuse cleaners. We told Martin we had already had to deal with the issues and clean the items in order to be able to eat and drink in a clean environment. I do not expect to have to provide the cleaning service myself. If there are Lyme Bay Holidays rules for providing proof of any complaint then they should be given to the client before arrival and not after the complaint has been made. Our complaint was not dealt with properly, it has not been resolved to our satisfaction and certainly the property cleanliness and the supposed service from yourselves was not worth the price we paid for the week. It spoilt our holiday.
