The house is placed quite high up a hill, great for the half view, once walked down into the town to get back is a struggle getting back up such a steep hill.
Oh, deary me! After over twenty years of rental reviews on our property, your comments raised are somewhat bewildering, considering only two weeks ago someone commented that our property was the best they had ever rented in the UK. Other reviews also contain quite a few positive comments. Therefore, as owners, we are saddened to read so many negative issues which clearly must have been devastating during your stay.
We do have a shared drive with neighbours and from time to time, people wheelspin on the gravel causing it to spread over a wider area. Our sincere apologies if this was so off-putting to yourselves.
We do have the lawns mowed every two weeks, but again, apologies if the grass has looked untidy during your visit. With the recent drought and then following heavy rain, all lawns have taken to a growth surge.
We replace all mattresses in the property every four years, and I can assure you the king-sized double mattress in the main bedroom is of good quality. We apologies if the mattress was not to your exact liking.
Lyme Bay Holidays/ Sykes provide all linen and towels for their rentals, and I will pass on your comments about unfitted bottom sheets and small towels.
With regards to the feather pillows, again we change all pillows and quilts every eighteen months, along with continuous upgrades and redecoration. Therefore, we are puzzled as why you commented that `things are wearing out and not being replaced’.
As you state, the cottage is high up the hill, exactly as we emphasis in the write up for our cottage, it is a ten-minute uphill walk from the town. Lyme Regis town is at the bottom of a hill, no matter what direction you intend to travel. I am sorry if you struggled to get back up the steep hill and perhaps, we need to highlight the cottage location details in larger print, plus point out that a regular bus service runs from town, up to the car park near to our cottage.
We have tried hard over the past twenty years to permanently upgrade and enhance the cottage, hoping that holidaymakers will enjoy their rental experience. From other customer comments, most people all appear to enjoy their stay at our cottage.
