Caroline “Lovely flat.”
Very clean upstairs & living room. But the kitchen wasn't very clean. Food left in the freezer from the previous guests. Dishwasher washer not washing properly. There seems to be a filter missing. Mugs rather dirty had to soak them before us. We had a lovely stay. Just a few things not quite right.

Deborah “The accommodation was in a good location, it was well presented and had a broad range of useful equipment.”
The parking permit was a bonus although the car park was quite a way from the place. The welcome pack was generous however basic condiments (salt, pepper) would have been appreciated. The property was near to a good range of cafes shops and restaurants, we enjoyed our stay
- Deborah, September 2025We're glad you enjoyed your stay. Thanks for pointing out the lack of salt and pepper. New salt and pepper mills now in place! Property Owner
Joan “We love Rooftops and have been there several years.”
The spacious living room and bathroom are great. The stairs can be a challenge to older people . A great spot in the high street.
- Joan, August 2025So pleased you enjoyed your stay. I always think the stairs earn me more trips to cafes! Property Owner
Naomi “We had a wonderful stay, the apartment was lovely and so close to all the delights of Lyme Regis.”
Would highly recommend!
- Naomi, July 2025Lovely to hear you enjoyed your stay in Rooftops and the delights of Lyme. Property Owner
Sarah “We had a lovely 3 night stay at Rooftops.”
The flat is spacious, clean and feels like home! The beds are very comfortable and we slept well, apart from the odd seagull noise. The location is fantastic, right in the centre of Lyme, so very convenient for everything. Really appreciated the generous welcome pack. Loved the sea views and watching the world go by on Broad Street. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely stay again. Only minor points were that the doorbell didn't work and TV seemed a bit difficult to navigate.
- Sarah, May 2025Daniel “This is a very spacious, bright and very well-furnished apartment located right in the heart of the special town of Lyme Regis.”
The wonderful cafes, bars, restaurants and an array of bakeries and cake shops are on your doorstep. It is so easy to fall out of bed and wonder down to the pretty town beach and take a stroll before enjoying breakfast in one of the excellent and friendly beach-side cafes. The price you pay for this location is that you get the not un-expected noise of the busy town. However, you only have to go up to the master bedroom to have peace and quiet and enjoy the clear views of the sea and the Cobb harbour. from the rear window. The main bedroom has an extremely comfortable king-size bed (not advertised as such incidentally) and is a very relaxing space. The owner and agents are very helpful and understanding and on the last day when painters arrived to refurbish the exterior we were generously compensated for the minor inconvenience.
- Daniel, October 2024Gemma “Loved it! Perfect location, really nice space, everything we needed.”
The 4 of us, plus Ziggy the dog, highly recommend this place for a holiday!
- Gemma, July 2024Really glad you enjoyed your stay. Our spaniel loves it too! I hope you'll return to Rooftops soon. Jo, Chris and Bracken the dog. Property Owner
Alastair “I very much enjoyed our stay, the location is excellent and it's almost exactly as described.”
Just a few things to consider if you're staying here: - The blinds are privacy blinds and don't block out any light, so if you like to sleep in darkness I would bring some stick on blackout blinds - The seagulls are very loud, so bring some earplugs - It's very spacious and lots of room to put your beach stuff, there is even some stuff there already for you to use! e.g. Boadboards and Beach Matts - The parking is super handy and only just around the corner, a real plus! - Everything else is good but could do with a bit of an upgrade here and there. Things like the sofas are a bit shabby and some of the dinning room furniture is old and a bit damaged
- Alastair, July 2024So glad you had a good stay and that you found and used our stash of beach kit - it's in the cupboard by the street door for anyone to use! The blackout blinds are on our list after another guest suggested them recently. They will be one of the upgrades we'll be making at the end of the season as well as tidying up the dining room furniture. Sorry - we can't do much about the seagulls - they are just part of the character of Lyme! We hope you'll stay at Rooftops again soon. Property Owner
Joan “We were all ecstatically happy with our accommodation at Treetops.”
We had the most amazing stay, the facilities were excellent and we received a delicious welcome pack that was totally unexpected and enthusiastically welcomed on our arrival. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and the decor had all those little extra touches that made the apartment feel homely and at the same time reminded us that we were having a relaxing holiday. I will definitely recommend Rooftops to my friends and will come again for the best holiday ever. Thank you Sykes Cottages.
- Joan, June 2024So glad to hear you had a great holiday. We'll look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner
Holly “Rooftops is a lovely, bright, airy flat and perfectly located.”
This is our second stay here and it was just as lovely as we remembered. The flat was really clean on arrival and had everything we needed. We hope to be back at some point in the future.
- Holly, May 2024So glad you had a good stay. We'll look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner
Ann-louise “The stay was extremely disappointing, we had no hot water or heating, no tea towels and no bath mats.”
Dealing with Lyme Bay holidays was cumbersome. They were clearly fed-up with having to attend to repeated call outs from guests at Rooftops requesting their maintenance team manage a faulty boiler which they are unable to fix. I suggest the property is withdrawn from the Lyme Bay holiday web-site until such time the faulty boiler has either been repaired or replace if needed.
- Ann-louise, April 2024We are so sorry you were disappointed with your stay at Rooftops and hope the partial refund was some consolation. The boiler in the property was not old but its problems were persistent and our local plumber could not rectify the issues. After several callouts, we called in the manufacturer under the boiler's warranty and they resolved the issues. We are relieved to say that there have been no further problems since. Property Owner
Ann “The apartment was, as previously clean and fresh.”
It's really lovely holiday accommodation. The only problem is the heating and hot water. Which were non existent on our arrival and again on the last night and final morning.NOT GOOD ENOUGH. There have been comments about this problem in the visitors book also. Please rectify it before/ if we make another visit. Thank you. Ann, Brian, Matthew,Claire and the girls
- Ann, March 2024I'm really sorry to hear you had problems with the boiler. We replaced it because we had been having issues, but the new one appears to have problems too. We have had a plumber looking into it and hopefully, all is resolved. I hope you still enjoyed your time in Lyme. Jo Property Owner
Anthony “It's a lovely space and has a personal touch eg the welcome gifts.”
We like the design and decor. We have stayed there before and like its convenience + nearness to the sea plus the seagulls perching opposite!. [One tiny oversight-the bin in the bathroom, on arrival, had not been emptied but that can happen, otherwise all v clean]. And information + instructions v clear including 'framed' car permit!! anthony
- Anthony, September 2023Joan “Have stayed in this property for several years and we love it for spaciousness and very good facilities.”
It is so handy for shops and seafront. Stairs could be a problem for some but w we are fine with them.
- Joan, August 2023Keith “Super apartment and very generous welcome pack which we really appreciated.”
Noise on the first morning from the bin lorry at 5am followed by lots of seagulls led us to worry about disturbed nights but we quickly adjusted and the high street was remarkably quiet in the evening. We loved looking out across the rooftops. Mattresses in the two twin bedrooms were very stained. A second set of keys would have been very useful as when staying with adult children who wanted to do their own thing a couple of times we had to coordinate in/out.
- Keith, April 2023Patricia “It was very comfortable and the views at the back of the property were amazing.”
We had a lovely weekend there
- Patricia, November 2022Sue “Wonderful property, perfectly situated in Lyme Regis; only wish that we could have stayed longer.”
I am sure that we will return.
- Sue, October 2022Stephanie “We loved this apartment!”
The location, views and amenities were spectacular. We really appreciated the gift bag on arrival and hope to return again! The only slight inconvenience was having to have all the dishes washed and put away in addition to everything else to clean before 10 am and housekeeping coming while we were out one day without notifying us. Minor compared to the overall great experience.
- Stephanie, October 2022John “Stayed at Rooftops several times before and would happily stay there again.”
A summer weight duvet would have been good. Very helpful staff in Lyme Regis Office
- John, July 2022N “Beautiful property, located ideally to see the heart of Lyme.”
We enjoyed our stay very much! Thank you.
