South Glebe is a wonderfully presented, detached house located in the rural village of Hawkchurch, Set within its own grounds this delightful home was built by CG Fry and Son (builders of the renowned Poundbury estate in Dorchester owned by the Duchy of Cornwall). Situated between the three AONB’s Blackdown Hills, East Devon, and Dorset, and enjoying far-reaching countryside views, South Glebe is a fabulous pet-friendly choice for a group or family of six. Inside, you will find a spacious kitchen/diner, perfect for family mealtimes. The spacious lounge offers a delightful place to sit and relax with the adjoining conservatory, opening onto the garden, perfect for sitting quietly with a book or glass of wine. On the first floor, the three bedrooms are well presented and enjoy great views over the surrounding countryside. The kingside bedroom benefits from an ensuite shower room, with a family bathroom serving the other two bedrooms, a comfortable double bedroom and a twin room. With off-road parking for three cars and a superb garden with mature shrubs and pretty planting, South Glebe is ideal base to explore this very special area of World Heritage Coastline. Hawkchurch, known as ‘The Village of Roses’ is a picture postcard village with pretty, thatched cottages, a church, the welcoming Old Inn, and a well-stocked village shop for picking up any essentials. On the outskirts of the village, be sure to visit the stunning National Trust site of Lambert’s Castle and Coney’s Castle, both affording breath-taking views. For the keen walkers the South West Coastal Footpath offers a wealth of scenic walks with incomparable views of the Jurassic Coast and countryside. Take a trip to nearby Forde Abbey House and Gardens where a leisurely stroll through its award-winning gardens is recommended, Nearby Lyme Regis with its family friendly beach and famous Cobb harbour, is a great day out. Explore the Lyme Regis Museum and learn about the areas rich fossil hunting history before trying to find your own fossils on the beach. The area boasts a great selection of eateries and food lovers can enjoy fine dining at The Tytherleigh Arms, or Robin Wylde in Lyme Regis. Nearby Trinity Hill is home to Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage HQ and fish lovers should head for Hix’s Fish and Oyster House with great food and views over the harbour in Lyme Regis. Axminster 4 miles; Lyme Regis 6.9 miles.

Hawkchurch is a village in Devon, England, 3 miles north east of Axminster on the border of Devon and Dorset, and about 6 miles south of Somerset. It is 4 miles north of the tourist and fishing village of Lyme Regis. Hawkchurch has a village shop which is run as a community venture. The village pub, The Old Inn, is a traditional coaching house and a hostelry which has been on the site since 1543. Nearby Axminster, which is one of Devon’s prettiest smaller towns, and has many attractions, including plenty of privately owned shops, a weekly market and excellent old inns, with one dating back 100 years with its own resident ghost! The seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer visitors with many craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. Where ever you decide, Hawkchurch is an ideal place to enjoy with easy access to many areas around Dorset and Devon at any time of the year.
