Yes there are steep steps and wonky floor, all part of the charm of an older property. unfortunately the inside of the property doesn't live up to the potential, the lounge was cozy enough and the kitchen was ok equipped, however the property felt very dated elsewhere with dark furniture / drapes throughout. The worst element was the evident damp in all the rooms, with the smell that ensued and bubbling paint. Cleanliness was an issue, with warn dirty carpets upstairs, cobwebs and previous tenants food on the floor etc. Also to note the front door lock is very insecure and wouldn't stand up to even a mild attempt at a break in - needs fixing but also a bolt adding to the inside of the door for protection at night. during our stay we had particularly noisy neighbours in the attached holiday let, who seemingly liked to race along the lane directly in front of the cottage and went off in the morning at 5:45 / 6am most days after beeping the horn and shouting to each other - obviously waking us all up in the process. Clearly not the owners or properties fault, but kind of summed up our stay. lovely property with lots of potential, just needs a little TLC investing.

The property

Riverbank is a delightful cottage overlooking the River Cory and beautiful Devonshire countryside beyond. Retaining many characterful features of a property of this age, Riverbank has been updated to provide a relaxing, well-equipped holiday cottage in the most tranquil of locations. Step up into the inviting sitting room, which has a feature fireplace with woodburning stove and enjoys views to the front of the cottage over the garden and river beyond. A spacious dining room provides a great spot to share mealtimes together with a newly-fitted and well equipped galley kitchen at the rear of the property. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, a double and two twin rooms all with views over the adjoining fields. A spacious bathroom is located on the ground floor and has a bath with a shower over. The cottage is approached via a private gravelled driveway with parking for one car next to the cottage. Across the drive, the garden is enclosed by a stone wall and gate. A picnic bench provides the ideal spot to sit whilst overlooking the river with a glass of a chilled beverage or perhaps some dining alfresco. Care will need to be taken with pets and children due to the proximity with the river and livestock in the adjoining fields.
