    “We enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at Pit Close over the Christmas and New Year period.”

    The house was perfect for our needs and had everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay; spacious, modern, clean, warm, comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen. We loved the rural, away-from-it-all feel, and the views surrounding the barn are spectacular. The highlight for us was the bright open plan living area, with the large bi-fold doors allowing floods of warm sunlight in the morning. The house was decorated for Christmas and what a lovely surprise it was to find a real tree! The owners ...

    The house was perfect for our needs and had everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay; spacious, modern, clean, warm, comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen. We loved the rural, away-from-it-all feel, and the views surrounding the barn are spectacular. The highlight for us was the bright open plan living area, with the large bi-fold doors allowing floods of warm sunlight in the morning. The house was decorated for Christmas and what a lovely surprise it was to find a real tree! The owners kindly gifted festive treats for the children, as well as a welcome pack generously stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, crisps and mince pies! A car is a must to get around, with some of the roads in the surrounding area a little hairy. We also found that the WIFI in the barn could be a little sketchy at times. But we would highly recommend Pit Close for a relaxing and comfortable break and would love to return in the not too distant future!

From its beautifully elevated position in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Pit Close commands far-reaching views from both the property and the gardens, with delightful country walks from the door, making the ideal base for family and friends looking to explore this scenic area. A spacious and welcoming property, this contemporary barn conversion has been styled with high-quality fixtures and fittings, with beautiful personal touches throughout. The open-plan living area, with a vaulted ceiling, is flooded with natural light from the many windows, which provide tantalising glimpses of the rolling countryside outside. Lending itself to families or groups of friends, the room provides a relaxing and sociable space with a stylish kitchen, breakfast bar and large dining table, perfect for family mealtimes or games nights. Bi-folding doors open onto the adjoining patio, which provides the ideal spot to enjoy dining alfresco or simply sitting with a glass in the evening and watching the sun setting over the hills beyond. The stylish finish and attention to detail continues throughout the property with three good-sized bedrooms and a wonderful family bathroom. The first bedroom, a spacious double with an en-suite shower room enjoys far-reaching views over the fields and valley beyond. Dalwood is a small rural village resting in East Devon, among the idyllic Blackdown Hills AONB. Its facilities include a traditional pub serving food as well as a general store. Close by are some of Devon's most popular attractions. The market town of Axminster, lined with fine buildings, offers much to the visitor including an excellent range of amenities and a fascinating museum. To the western side of the Blackdown Hills you will find another market town, Honiton also holds much charm along with a museum and an art gallery. After your dose of undulating countryside, walking and cycling, you may wish to head to the coast, nearby there is a choice of wonderful seaside spots including Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. All come with their own individual character and promise a fun-packed day trip to the beach with their activities and opportunities on offer.
