“A stunning property.”

Very spacious and comfortable. Everything you need to make you feel at home, and a wonderful welcome pack upon our arrival. The most beautiful views from the patio, and a wonderful array of animals in surrounding fields. We were also joined in the neighbouring field by the farm calves. So cute. The nearby roads are narrow, and do require a game of miss the potholes, but worth it when you arrive. Thank-you.

“We enjoyed a wonderful two weeks at Pit Close over the Christmas and New Year period.”

The house was perfect for our needs and had everything for a comfortable and relaxing stay; spacious, modern, clean, warm, comfy beds and a well equipped kitchen. We loved the rural, away-from-it-all feel, and the views surrounding the barn are spectacular. The highlight for us was the bright open plan living area, with the large bi-fold doors allowing floods of warm sunlight in the morning. The house was decorated for Christmas and what a lovely surprise it was to find a real tree! The owners kindly gifted festive treats for the children, as well as a welcome pack generously stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, crisps and mince pies! A car is a must to get around, with some of the roads in the surrounding area a little hairy. We also found that the WIFI in the barn could be a little sketchy at times. But we would highly recommend Pit Close for a relaxing and comfortable break and would love to return in the not too distant future!

When the bifold doors are fully open you feel you are part of it. The house is spacious, immaculate, well equipped and comfortable. The underfloor heating makes it snug in the while property. It truly was an incredible find and we would love to return. For anyone booking, remember to use what three words as it's slightly beyond where the postcode takes you to. One of the best places we've stayed.

“Pitclose is an exceptional holiday let!”

We were a three generation family plus hound and the fact that it’s all on one level made the stay very easy. Our grandson has no concept of danger and I use a walking stick. So the fact there are no stairs made it stress free. Everything is there and all we needed to request was an iron and board which we received very quickly. The views are wonderful and our stay was relaxing. A walk-in shower was perfect. (The slider rail for the shower head has been fitted at the wrong height!) This is a beautiful and well thought out holiday home. Well done.

“Pit Close is a well thought out modern barn conversion in a stunningly beautiful location.”

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay and the only problem was that it was only a week. The open plan layout of the living area was ideal for three generations of our family and dog to enjoy. Bedrooms are spacious and the whole property was clean and well equipped.

“The holiday was great.”

The cottage was well equipped, spacious clean and warm with amazing views. The owners were friendly but not intrusive, and were quick to respond when we were unable to get a station of choice on the television. There were many welcoming gifts on our arrival, which included a lovely bottle of lemonade, crisps, our favourite Moores biscuits ( two packets) as well as milk sugar coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Thank you. We would definitely return.

“Pit Close was comfortable, clean and so pleasant to stay in.”

The house was decorated for Xmas which was a lovely touch and we were left milk, mince pies and plenty of hot chocolates sachets, sugar, coffee and teabags which was a lovely touch. The property is spacious, warm with the underfloor heating and if you are looking for somewhere that is quiet and relaxing this is your place. The roads to get to the property are extremely narrow country lanes which were not a problem for us as we never came across any cars luckily, If you are staying here just make sure you are stocked up with food etc as the nearest supermarket is in Axminster which takes extra time due to the narrow country lanes. There is a shop in the nearby village, we never went there but I’m sure it will be good for supplies of bread, milk etc. I could not fault this property and cannot wait to book it again in the summer months to take advantage of the bifold doors and patio area and amazing views.

“A very lovely holiday home.”

We did get a little chilly a couple of evenings, such a big room to heat up. Beautiful views over the valley. Lovely calfs and cows for neighbours. The pub we went to was very nice, not walking distance, as the same with the little shop which was also lovely. The roads are very narrow, in most places one car only. Which is why you don't want to be walking when it's dark even with a torch. Easy to reach the coast by car

A spacious and welcoming property, this contemporary barn conversion has been styled with high-quality fixtures and fittings, with beautiful personal touches throughout. The open-plan living area, with a vaulted ceiling, is flooded with natural light from the many windows, which provide tantalising glimpses of the rolling countryside outside. Dalwood is a small rural village resting in East Devon, among the idyllic Blackdown Hills AONB. Its facilities include a traditional pub serving food as well as a general store. Close by are some of Devon's most popular attractions. The market town of Axminster, lined with fine buildings, offers much to the visitor including an excellent range of amenities and a fascinating museum. To the western side of the Blackdown Hills you will find another market town, Honiton also holds much charm along with a museum and an art gallery. After your dose of undulating countryside, walking and cycling, you may wish to head to the coast, nearby there is a choice of wonderful seaside spots including Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth.
