“Having used Lyme Bay Holidays for over 15 years, this was our second two week visit to Costal View.”

A beautiful, well equipped flat with stunning views of Lyme Bay. However, this time we did have an issue which required a couple of visits to the office. There was a problem with the TV which took most of our stay to resolve and Lyme Bay holidays failed to communicate adequately with us the progress of the repair. Another issue we encountered was the bathroom sink which was blocked with hair, only becoming noticable when the sink was filled with water. After taking the plug out it was evident ...

A beautiful, well equipped flat with stunning views of Lyme Bay. However, this time we did have an issue which required a couple of visits to the office. There was a problem with the TV which took most of our stay to resolve and Lyme Bay holidays failed to communicate adequately with us the progress of the repair. Another issue we encountered was the bathroom sink which was blocked with hair, only becoming noticable when the sink was filled with water. After taking the plug out it was evident hair was obstructing the flow, which we had to remove. Finally, for two days we were unable to use the patio as the neighbours were having their house painted. The painter had to cover part of the decking up and, along with the scaffolding, made it difficult to use as we were overlooked. We were not told this was going to happen and only found out when we saw a strange man wandering around on the patio first thing in the morning! Coastal View is an outstanding property and on the whole we have really enjoyed both our stays there (we love the Peter Blake artwork!). I must emphasise the issues we had during our stay do not reflect on the owner or the property.

“An amazing property.”

Beautiful views. A lovely garden area to sit in. A well supplied kitchen area. An important feature for someone who largely caters for themselves (food allergies). We will definitely come back to Lyme Regis, but next time we will be looking for a property that allows a small well behaved dog.

“Very comfortable home from home with amazing views across Lyme Bay.”

Well equipped kitchen including fridge/freezer, dishwasher & washerdrier, with plenty of cutlery & crockery. Modern shower room. Interesting artwork on walls. Good selection of board games for stay in days. Parking convenient but tight if you have more than medium sized car. Steep hill to & from town. Private outside space with patio furniture. Excellent well equipped property.

Furnished to a high standard. Only two negatives, both of which are outside the control of the owners. Parking is problematic and the north east garden aspect means the patio is mostly in shade. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Lyme Regis is a great location.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at coastal view it was spotlessly clean and beautifully presented.”

It was very well equipped with lots of thoughtful additions like automatic outside lights, a welcome pack and a cleaning pack. The bed was very comfortable with quality linens. We stayed for 4 nights but would loved to have stayed longer. The only concern we would have is the parking as the rentals were quiet this wasn't a problem this trip but if it was busy the spaces would be very tight and we would have had to park elsewhere due to the size of our car (4x4) and the position of the space. Overall an amazing stay and we would love to return.

“Comfortable apartment for 2 people.”

Car park big enough for medium sized car. Kitchen was well equipped and sitting/ dining room stylish but homely. The dining table now has chairs instead of a bench. Bed was large and comfortable. Extra blankets and pillows available. Plenty of storage space. Some noise from upstairs residents moving about but to be expected in an old house. A steep hill to the town centre which guests with mobility issues may find difficult. A great apartment in a lovely town, with the beautiful Jurassic Coast on the doorstep.

A quaint apartment good location. The photos of the inside are probably a few year old as the furniture is a lot more worn than photos. The big sofa quite uncomfortable but the big chair very comfortable. This however did not spoil our stay. The bed very large and comfortable. We would recommend this apartment in beautiful lyme regis.

“We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Coastal View.”

Lovely and comfortable, high quality furnishings and facilities. The decking area is a secluded suntrap which allowed for naturist sunbathing. A short walk into town to the beach where we enjoyed sea swims, also many pubs and restaurants. Lyme Regis didn't disapoint in any aspect. We shall return.

“A well equipped apartment with lovely view of the cliffs.”

With the excellent weather we had we used the patio first thing on a morning. Ideal location to explore the Donkey Sanctuary, Beer, Beaminster, Seatown and Charmouth. Went to quite a number of good eating places in the town. Notably the Harbour Inn, and the excellent Thai on the seafront.The reviews in the apartment said the welcome pack was well received, there was nothing in the box and not even a bottle of milk. Most places we have rented there has been at least a bottle of milk.

“Such a lovely little find in one of our favorite towns.”

It has everything you need and is a beautiful, light and comfortable space that is exceptional clean. We loved the huge bed and variety of seating, meaning that we could both stretch out and have 40 winks after a busy day out. We didn't get to use the outside space due to the timing of our stay but it looked inviting and a good space for hot sunny days/evenings. What a bonus to have had a parking space too!

“We’ve stayed in a lot of cottages over the last 20 years and this is probably the best one.”

Perfect for two people, great location, very cosy and comfortable. My husband is very picky with his cleanliness and was very impressed. I can’t find anything to fault it. The only small thing is that you can hear noise from upstairs at times; didn’t really bother us, but that is the only thing I can think of! Totally recommend.

“Great location and clean and tidy apartment.”

Was at the top of Silver Street so for people with lack of mobility it may be a problem. Fact that there was no en-suite (did know this at booking) bit of a downside for us oldies who need to get up up the night. The sofa was comfy but not so much the very low chairs. As it was November, didn't get to use outside facilities but the views and equipment looked great. Very well equipped aparmtnent which we would recommend.

One other thing I have never been asked to strip the bed before but this may be a new thing now. You may want to change the blue bag from time to time as it was a bit smelly

“This flat, part of an old building, has been meticulously and tastefully modernised in a fresh style.”

The kitchen is very well equipped, and the living room and bedroom are comfortable. The flat was spotlessly clean, and the welcome basket a nice touch. We couldn't give full marks for maintenance as there are some details that require attention, which I've reported to the agent. Just a note if you book this flat: there is no shaver point in the bathroom so you might like to bring an adaptor to charge your devices in the kitchen. In general, you are unlikely to be disappointed with the property, with the view, and with it's proximity to the town centre.

“Coastal View is a lovely, well equipped apartment with a great view over the Jurassic coastline.”

It was roomier than we expected, especially as it is a one bed apartment which are often much smaller. The only criticism is that the seating in the lounge is not as comfortable as it looks. The armchairs are very low and deep and the settee sloped from the back to the front edge which wasn't ideal for a comfy sit.

Well equipped and great views of sea. Welcome basket was a nice bonus. We enjoyed sitting outside on the lovely furniture on our private patio in the sun. Parking was a bit tight due to the parking space being in the corner but we managed ok. Short walk down the hill to the centre. You could also walk through the park to the beach too. We would recommend this apartment.

“Coastal View is one of the loveliest properties we have ever stayed in.”

It was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. The art work is fascinating and there is a sea view from every window. Having an allocated parking space was a big bonus for Lyme Regis. As we were only 7 minutes walk away from the village, there were many days when we didn't use the car at all. There is so much to do in Lyme. We recommend the "History Walk." Book it through Lyme Regis museum.

“A lovely apartment.”

It has everything you need for a holiday and little touches that make it even more welcoming. We really enjoyed coming back to it after a day walking and exploring, and stayed in a few evenings rather than go out for dinner, which we don’t normally do on holiday. It’s a really fab place and situated in a perfect part of the town for access etc and has parking off road! A bonus if staying in Lyme Regis.

“Lovely flat , furnished to a high standard .”

We did have issues with the yale key , it's very dodgy and needs looking at , we locked up when going out with the chub style key having put the snip up on the door . Also issue with the TV , we couldn't get to grips with it at all , good job we were out every evening or we would have had to contact you .

“Great view.”

The couch was so uncomfortable. Go and have a look at it, instead of just renting it out again. No one can sit on it comfortably. There is also a rip on the arm? The window is broken in the bedroom. I phoned the support number and the man sent someone over even though I wasn't going to be there. He had to cancel it. Then they persisted on ringing early the next morning to arrange a time. He left a number on my answering machine to phone, and it wasn't even the correct number. Idiot springs to mind. Not something you want to be dealing with on a holiday. Window never got fixed. Major security concern when you're travelling with laptops etc. There were only two toilet rolls for two people for seven days? Come on. There was no detergent for the washing machine? The WiFi is horrendous also. It isn't even WiFi it's just a repeater that has been set up for the whole building. Because there are other flats in the same building. The view is spectacular out the window. Would I go back to this one? I think I'll try somewhere else next time.

We hope you enjoyed your stay. Looking at our records one of our Maintenance Team attended during your stay and closed the windows. We will organise a revisit to check the window. As the property is self-catering it provides a starter amount of toilet roll, and other basic cleaning materials but not washing machine detergent as this is quite a personal choice. We will certainly go and check the sofa on the next changeover. The Lyme Bay Team Just to clarify, the Wifi is solely for our flat. The hub is in our locked room and the booster is what you see in the lounge. We have always had a strong signal there with no issues. Property Owner

“The arrangement of the converted house means this wasn’t a relaxing and peaceful stay.”

Extreme noise could be heard from the flat above. Floor creaking to the point the lamp shade vibrates. This was raised as an issue and was only “dealt with” after we confirmed that we had left early due to noise. The kitchen had a connecting door to another flats bedroom and our bedroom had another flats living room on the wall. We are a quiet couple looking for a peaceful week away and this wasn’t the place for us. The mattress also needs to be replaced, We couldn’t recommend and won’t be returning. Lyme Regis as a town was lovely though.

Thank you for your feedback although again, we are sorry to hear that you did not have a relaxing stay. We did raise this with Lyme Bay Holidays as the flat above ours were also guests of theirs. I understand from the permanent residents in the house that they had never heard such noisy guests. We would point out that the kitchen does not have a door connecting to another flat's bedroom. The door is to our second bedroom which is used for storage and personal items. It is not another flat. We will investigate the mattress - it is not particularly old, it is a good make and has a new mattress topper but we are sorry this wasn't too your liking. Property Owner

Everything you need and lots of extras. It would be useful if the directions from the car park area said that the white gates are only accessible from opposite side the of the building, through the gate from the road. Also, from a personal perspective, it would be good to be supplied with larger towels or listing updated to say they are small so people can bring their own. Would definitely visit again.

“What a wonderful bright, quiet and airy flat with sea views from the living room and the decked outside area.”

We had a really fantastic stay there. It was so clean, tidy, comfy and very well equipped. I did email Sykes cottages to see what basics would be provided in the flat and the response said take everything you need - but it was actually very well kitted out - toilet roll, kitchen roll, cooking oil, milk, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid, tea towels, hand wash and a small hamper of crisps, a few tea bags and some lovely biscuits. It was great that it was all provided, but would have been helpful to have been told what was there by Sykes to save packing it all and then not needing it. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here and would definitely come back if I was planning a revisit to Lyme.
