“Spacious rooms suit groups, small garden is private enough to enjoy afternoon sun and tea on patio.”

Well equipped kitchen. Small points , pity main dining table only has benches not chairs, Chairs in lounge could be bigger and more comfy. Downstairs loo lock not working, simple bolt needed. Never did get bathroom shower to work properly from fixed nozzle. Otherwise really enjoyed break in very clean, comfortable house in great location for beach, harbour and high street.3 Carpark spaces real bonus. Steep slopes unavoidable in Lyme Regis but provide lovely views.

“We enjoyed our stay.”

The house was spotlessly clean, warm and comfy and the goody bag a very welcome treat, thank you! The parking was a bit tricky because of the awkward camber on the drive but with three cars in total we really appreciated it. Without it parking in Lyme would've been a nightmare! We didn't bring the dogs in the end but the house was very well equipped for them. Only a couple of minor points and suggestions. The curtains in the top double bedroom were very flimsy and kept coming off the rail. Lined curtains would be better at keeping the light out. The dishwasher is far too small: although it's hard to see where a full sized one would fit, it's quite inadequate for the number of guests the house can accommodate. Perhaps a solar light to aid parking at night would have prevented an argument with the low wall when squeezing into the double space! Finally, just a suggestion that it would be nice to have a large oven proof casserole dish - the one provided had plastic handles so we didn't use it - and not every family will eat out/have takeaways every night! Notwithstanding, it was a very comfortable and pleasant house to stay in and if we go back to Lyme again with the dogs we'd book it again.

“Overall we thought the property was clean but fell short of expectation on comfort.”

There was not enough loo roll to last the stay, the lack of black out blinds made sleeping difficult, the dishwasher was tiny for an 8 person house as was the freezer facility. Everything felt like it had been done to the minimum. I wasn't very impressed.

Having been assessed by Lyme Bay/Sykes prior to listing (who also wrote the advert), we went the extra step of paying for an independent inspection. Both of these inspections graded Fawley comfortably within the category it sits. Also making note of the number of “wonderful extras provided” such as the air fryer, jacuzzi bath, gaming console, smart TV and smart speaker etc. We don’t list as having black out blinds/curtains but have noted your concerns about them along with the other matters raised. “I wasn’t going to respond to this but you have sent a couple of reminders.”

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely property in an excellent location. However our stay was spoilt by the shower over the bath being out of action. We reported the leak and the maintenance man planned to seal what was the wrong area, we pointed out that the problem was actually a badly fitted bath requiring more than just sealant patching. It was causing water leakage into both the downstairs bedroom & kitchen dining area. We did not want to cause anymore damage so agreed we would just use the en-suite shower but wanted to keep use of the bath for our 2 year old grandson. We did expect that we would be suitably compensated for this but we’re offered an extra night in a property they were obviously having problems letting given the number of free weeks available and the large reductions of £300+ they were making. I did expect that we would get a compensation offer at least equal to that but we only received a small offer which we decided to take as better than nothing. We were disappointed as we thought we were being helpful to the owners in trying to avoid greater problems in what is a great property for a holiday.

We really appreciated you bringing the shower sealant issue to our attention mid way through your stay. We can only apologise that you had trouble with it but we can confirm that the owner has personally ensured that this issue has been rectified now. It was a shame that you did not allow our maintenance facilities to remedy the sealant during your stay as it was a simple fix and would have avoided your distress. As the bath, along with the other bathroom was fully functional for the rest of your stay, the compensation offered reflected this. The owner did also offer an extra night free of charge as a gesture of goodwill but we understand that your other commitments prevented you from accepting this offer. “Wonderful house, ample parking for two large cars, (both cars over 2 metres wide we let the passengers out on the drive then parked up).”

The house is at the top of a hill so its a very pleasant walk down to the Cobb or Town, quite a hill back up. But this is expected in Lyme Regus! (we had our 90 year old mother in law with us and she managed the hill!). The house has all you need and quite homely no complaints. The micro wave is a little high as some other people have remarked but we found this no problem. Our only suggestion it would be advantageous to have a non slip mat in the main bath room bath for when taking a shower. To sum up we had a wonderful time there.

“Lovely stay, loved the house and it was very well presented and clean.”

Amazing location, would definitely book again. The only thing I would say is the parking advertised was for 2 cars, this would need to be 2 small cars, we have 2 larger vehicles and only 1 would fit. Lots of residential parking near by and a large car park so this was not an issue for us. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Apologies if the parking wasn’t clear in the guest book, however we also have the space opposite the drive next to Dads boat. So parking for two vehicles shouldn’t be a problem. We have clearer signage to put up once the boat goes and will then have three spaces. But in the meantime we will make the parking notes in the guest book clearer also! Very homely. Microwave positioned in a dangerous place. Safer on the counter. A comfortable chair overlooking the garden would be great. Armchair would be great in the lounge too. Would definitely recommend this property to a friend. Many thanks for a lovely stay .

Fawley is a wonderful, detached holiday home located in Lyme Regis Dorset, on the popular UNESCO World heritage Jurassic Coast. Sleeping up to eight guests, the accommodation has been carefully considered to offer everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday amongst family and friends. The open plan kitchen diner is the real heart of the home, bright and spacious and a great sociable space. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. The well fitted kitchen is well-equipped for preparing meals that the group can enjoy with the option of the adjoining dining area for mealtimes or guests can step outside to the seating area for alfresco entertaining when the weather allows. The lounge is a comfortable and restful room with feature fireplace and electric woodburning stove providing a cosy feel, perfect for relaxing after day at the beach. When it comes to nighttime, there are four bedrooms in total; a double bedroom on the ground floor and three further bedrooms situated on the first floor. The spacious king size bedroom with ensuite shower room enjoys some views over Lyme Regis and the sea beyond. The second double bedroom and the twin room, both overlooking the garden, share the family bathroom where you can truly relax and indulge with the jacuzzi bath. Outside, the gardens wrap around the house with steps leading up to a large lawned area surrounded by pretty shrubs and planting, whilst to the side there is a gravelled seating area with table and chairs.
