Chideock Holiday Cottages

Chideock is a beautiful village just to the east of Bridport and within easy access of all the amenities that bustling town provides. Chideock itself is within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and most of it is situated in a Conservation Area. There are a number of archaeological sites including the earthworks of the medieval Chideock Castle to the north of the village. Rolling hills and graceful valleys surround the village offering up plenty of opportunity to explore.

Things To Do in Chideock

Golden Cap
If you want to conquer the south coast’s highest peak without tackling the entire stretch of coast path to Seatown, park up in one of the National Trust’s car parks at Langdon Hill or Stonebarrow Hill. From here there’s much less distance to cover to reach the summit, and if you can’t hack the calf-busting climb, there are always the 25 miles of easier footpaths circulating the estate.

Deep Sea Fishing, Lyme Regis
Join Harry May on a boat trip around the Lyme Regis Harbour and the surrounding area. You don’t even have to fish if you’d rather just take in the sea air and look out for wildlife.

Eat And Drink in Chideock

The Clock, Chideock
A 16th Century thatched pub that has recently had a complete refurbishment due to a devastating fire in 2015. The newly re-opened Clock has added a decking area during the building work to add to the outside space available for drinkers and diners. This family friendly inn has a dedicated games area with skittles, table football, table tennis and children’s darts – perfect for a little after dinner competition. Full of homemade traditional pub classics this pub is a perfect hub for a casual evening out with the family.

The George Inn, Chideock
It’s important to book at this popular thatched roofed pub if you’re planning to dine here. With a wood-fired pizza oven outside on the terrace and excellent casked ales from local Palmers Brewery, this dog-friendly inn offers two cosy bar areas and booth seating. The menu is locally sourced and guided by the seasons. A great place to grab a burger or sandwich. The Palmers beer battered haddock goujons sandwich is a nice modern uptake of the good old fish finger sandwich.

The Anchor Inn, Seatown
This award-winning pub on the beach is quite rightly on the radar of the foodies in the area. The menu makes full use of the best organic and local produce from both land and sea. And with an extensive wine list carefully chosen to complement the distinct flavour characteristics of the fresh ingredients you have the makings of a truly superb dining experience.
